This regiment
left Camp William Penn October 18th, 1864 proceeding to the vicinity of Richmond, there
being attached to Hincks Division, Tenth Corps. The regiment remained with the Army
of the Potomac until May 25th, 1865 being then sent by sea to join the Twenty-fifth Corps
in Texas, where it was engaged on guard and patrol duty. In September, 1865, the
41st was reduced to a battalion of four companies. It was mustered out at
Brownsville, November 10th, and disbanded at Philadelphia on December 14th, 1865
